A team of Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) led by its President Kumar Panta on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
On the occasion, President Panta recalled the cooperation between the government and NRNA and drew PM Deuba's attention regarding the bill on the citizenship issue of Non-Resident Nepalis, which is under consideration in the Parliament for a long.
The NRNA delegation urged the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Deuba to rescue Nepali migrant workers in the countries of destination during the testing time of the COVID-19 pandemic and unveil a package for their relief as well as reintegration upon their arrival back home.
Likewise, former NRNA President Jiba Lamichhane drew PM Deuba's attention regarding the Satyagraha staged by British Gurkhas in the UK and asked the government to take the diplomatic initiative to resolve the issue with the UK government.
During the meeting, PM Deuba assured to finalise the issue of citizenship to the NRNs as stated in the Constitution, the NRNA said.
