At least one person died and 10 others sustained injuries after a microbus they were travelling on fell below the road in Aathbis Municipality-1 of Dailekh district.
Police identified the deceased as 37-year-old Dipendra Bahadur Shahi of Shuva Kalika Rural Municipality in the district.
The microbus (Karnali State 02 001 Kha 247) heading to Surkhet from Kalikot district fell about 50 metres below the road killing one person and injuring 10 others at Duikuna along the Karnali Highway this morning, according to police.
Seriously injured seven persons were sent to Surkhet in ambulances for further treatment while three persons are receiving treatment at a local medical centre.
A total of 15 passengers were travelling on the microbus from Kalikot district.
Police have yet to establish the cause of the road accident. Further details about the incident are awaited.
