An order regarding the terms of the two commissions concerning the transitional justice has been presented in the National Assembly.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, today submitted the order to extend the term of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and of the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers towards that end.
As the Minister informed the upper house, the Council of Ministers on July 4 agreed to extend the tenures of the twin commissions bearing in mind remaining task of the peace process.
The order to remove the hurdles towards that end was issued in accordance with the Act on Commission in Investigation of Disappeared Persons and d Truth and Reconciliation Act, 2071 (2014).
In the meeting, Legislative Management Committee President Jayanti Devi Rai presented a study report-2080 BS about laws left to be enacted in accordance whit the Constitution of Nepal- 2015.
National Assembly Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina read out letters received from the Office of the President regarding the authentication of bills, formations of the Council of Ministers and the allocations of ministers' portfolios.
The NA shall meet again at 1:01 pm on September 4.
