The budget for the next financial year submitted by Finance Minister Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has been passed by the majority of the meeting of the House of Representatives.
Out of 255 MPs present, 147 votes were in favor of the proposal and 108 were against it.
Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party and the ruling coalition parties voted in favor of the proposal. Opposition parties, including the main opposition party CPN (UML) and the National Independent Party, voted against.
