CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the peace process should be completed only after convincing the conflict victims.
At an interaction programme organized here on Saturday by Guru Luintel Studies and Development Centre, the UML Chairman said that the remaining tasks of the peace process should be finalized by making laws on the agreed upon issues by the conflict victims.
He argued that the peace process won’t be concluded by suppressing the conflict victims.
Saying that the problems would not be resolved by giving injustice to the conflict victims, Oli argued that the peace process cannot be completed by continuing suppression, injustice and oppression.
"Conflict victims should get justice. The problems will not be addressed by giving injustice to the conflict victims," according to the UML Chairman.
He was of the view that the issues of the conflict victims should be addressed to not repeat the conflict in the country.
Oli stated that reconciliation is not possible under duress rather it should be a voluntary decision and a conducive environment should be created for reconciliation amicably.
"The victims should be given reparation and justice," the former PM said.
Likewise, Oli said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission should work independently.
