People fined for not wearing masks in Makwanpur

Those walking in public places of Makwanpur district without wearing masks are being fined. A team deployed by the District Police Office has fined Rs 100 to 60 people from different places for not wearing masks.

Spokesperson of the office and Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayeshwar Rimal informed that action has been taken against those who walked without wearing masks. He said that they were fined for not following the regulations despite repeated warnings. They have been fined under the COVID-19 Infectious Diseases Control Act 2020.

A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center held on January 23 had decided to fine those who walk in public places of the district without wearing masks. Police have also been distributing masks in Hetauda and urging people to be aware of the infection.
