Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed his best wishes to all those living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Vivah Panchami 2078 BS.

He mentioned that the best example of truth, religion, conduct, discipline, duty and social justice can be obtained from the inspiration of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita through good wishes today. Prime Minister Deuba has said that Nepal's daughter, Devi Sita, is the epitome of our pride and we can learn from her behavior the qualities in an ideal woman.

In the Tretayuga, Lord Rama came from Ayodhya to Janakpur dham, the capital of the ancient state of Mithila, and married Princess Sita according to Vedic Sanatan Hindu culture.

To celebrate the marriage of Rama and Sita, it is customary to remember Sita and her husband Rama with special reverence in the temple of Ram Janaki and to hold various religious programs throughout the year praising their fame. Prime Minister Deuba has urged to observe the festival cautiously keeping in view the health standards in the current situation where the epidemic of COVID-19 has not been eradicated.

He wished that this great historical festival of cultural significance would inspire in all to increase the spirit of mutual brotherhood, harmony and national unity.
