Prime Minister Prachanda leaves for India

 Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' embarked on an India visit today to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

PM Dahal was bade farewell by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson, Narayan Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers Raghubir Mahaseth and Narayankaji Shrestha, ministers, parliamentarians, high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal and Chiefs of security agencies.

On the occasion, a contingent of the Nepali Army offered a guard of honour to PM Dahal who is visiting India at the cordial invitation of Indian PM Modi.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, the Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri, and senior officials of the government.

Bharatiya Janata Party's leader Modi is scheduled to take oath as the Prime Minister for the third stint this evening in the Indian capital city Delhi.

The Heads of State and Governments from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mauritius were also invited by the Indian government to attend the swearing-in ceremony, it is learned.

PM Dahal would hold a meeting with his Indian counterpart Modi today itself, according to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. PM Dahal will return home on Monday.
