Vice-President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has said the Public Administration Association of Nepal could play a role to end public complaints in administration, management and bureaucracy of the country. Addressing a programme organised to present 'Hem Bahadur Malla Award' organised by the Association on Wednesday, Vice-President Yadav expressed happiness over providing professional support in policy-making, review and evaluation of the public sector.
"Nepal has been declared a federal democratic republic and there is a three-tier government. It is necessary to make service delivery more effective in changing structure. Additional training, knowledge, capacity building and skill are necessary for administrators and employees for the same", he mentioned.
Stating that Nepal is multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural and geographically diverse country, the Vice-President pointed out that all should play a role for protection and promotion of unity among diversity, social and cultural solidarity, tolerance and harmony.
Vice-President Yadav expressed, "It is necessary to move ahead with determination of building an equitable society based on proportional, inclusive and participatory principles to ensure financial equality, prosperity and social justice by ending all types of discrimination."
Stressing the need of prioritizing people-oriented service delivery as per the people's expectation to establish an equitable society, he laid emphasis that the Association can take further responsibility to promote honesty, accountability and transparency in the country.

On the occasion, Vice-President Yadav presented the 'Hem Bahadur Malla Award' to Gorakshya Bahadur Nuchchhe Pradhan and Bhanu Prasad Acharya for their remarkable contribution in the public administration and management sector.
Pradhan received the Award for 2077 BS while Acharya for 2078 BS. The award carries a purse of Rs 200,000.
Hem Bahadur Malla Award was established in 2059 BS at the agreement of Association and Sakt Trading Corporation. Malla, who served as General Manager of Salt Trading Corporation for 25 years, is known as a 'role model' administrator and manager. The Association established the Award as the sponsor of the Corporation in memory of Malla.
