The statement given by the suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana to the General Prosecution Recommendation Committee is being signed. Along with this, according to the demand of CPN-UML, the preparation for asking supplementary questions has been postponed.
A committee meeting was held this morning to ask supplementary questions to Rana. Initially, the UML MPs demanded that Rana should sign the records made by the committee in the statement given in the past. After that, the UML demanded that the necessary evidence should be collected, additional documents should be obtained and only after that a list of questions would be prepared and supplementary questions would be asked.
Now, by postponing the preparations to ask counter-questions, the impeachment recommendation committee is getting Rana to sign the previous statement.
