Reconstruction of 163 schools damaged due to Gorkha earthquake has been completed. Bir Bahadur Gurung, Head of Education Development and Coordination Unit Lamjung, informed that the reconstruction of all school buildings has been completed in eight years since the earthquake.
"With the reconstruction of the four-room school building in Bal Jyoti Secondary School in Bensish Bange and Dadhuwa Duchchha Secondary School in Madhya Nepal Municipality, the reconstruction of all damaged school buildings, toilets and drinking water pipes in the district has been completed", he said.
In the district, 91 four-room, 19 three-room and 53 two-room school buildings have been reconstructed. Besides, reconstruction of 69 toilets and 36 water pipes has been completed. Two hundred and sixty-eight programs were implemented in the district, including school buildings, toilets and drinking water.
The reconstruction work started from the financial year 2073-2074. At that time, the goal was to complete the reconstruction in five years.
