The Weather Forecasting Division witnessed record high temperatures across the country on Thursday. The Nepalgunj city witnessed the highest temperature- searing 44.2 degree Celsius.
Meteorologist at Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Govinda Jha, informed that today's record is the highest ever temperature measured in Nepalgunj. The city in the western plains of Nepal had the burning atmosphere in the afternoon.
Adjacent city Dhangadhi had recorded 44.1 degree Celsius the same day.
Earlier, the Bhairaha city had witnessed 43.6 degree Celsius last month.
On Thursday, Biratnagar sweltered at 41 degree Celsius and Ghorai at 40.2 degree Celsius.
Even the hilly cities including the federal capital Kathmandu and tourist capital Pokhara had scorching weathers.
It was 34 degree Celsius in Pokhara and 34.4 degree Celsius in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Currently, the local wind and westerly wind are impacting Nepal's weather along with little impact of lower pressure system in the vicinity of Bihar, India.
