The Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) have signed a memorandum of understanding here today so as to promote Nepal's mountaineering tourism through news, write-up and stories related to the field.
RSS's General Manager Siddaraj Rai and NMA's Senior-Vice-President Thakuraj Pandey signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations here today.
The MoU will come into effect from July 17 this year according to which the only state-owned news agency in the country will publicize contents containing NMA's activities, mountaineering related news, write-up, interviews among others through RSS's audio, video, print and photo service.
Established in 2018 BS, RSS has been providing various services (Nepali news, international news, English news and Feature news), photos (Nepali and International) and audio and video news content to its local and foreign subscribers.
On the occasion, GM Rai said that it was RSS's first ever official MoU and it would be continued with other organizations. "RSS, as the responsible State-run news agency, has been prioritizing news contents that disseminate positive messages in and outside of the country."
Similarly, NMB Vice-Chairperson Pandey expressed his confidence that the collaboration with the RSS would be fruitful in strengthening country's economy by promoting mountain tourism and further enhancing Nepal's identity in the world.
Present in the MoU signing ceremony were RSS's board member Krishna Adhikari and marketing unit chief Rajaram Karki as well as NMA's Treasurer Mukti Pandey, Board member Pitambar Gurung, Secretary Dhan Bahadur Gurung and CEO Kul Prasad Rai among others.
