Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district has closed its services for six days in the wake of the rising spread of coronavirus of late. All services provided from the rural municipality office have been halted from March 26 to 31, according to Chairperson Karna Bahadur Gurung.
He added that a number of coronavirus infected persons grew at Lahachowk of Ward no 4 in the rural municipality. Three persons who were members of a cooperative got infected after they return from the visit. Based on contact tracing, other people were tested, which resulted in infection among 13 more persons on March 24.
Gurung further informed that the services were halted in view of the health safety to the service seekers.
DAO urges against gathering
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Kaski, has requested everyone not to organize assembly, programmes and gathering in view of the growing spread of coronavirus in the neighbouring country India and subsequent effect in Nepal. The administration issued a six-point directive after the meeting of the district Covid-19 crisis management centre on Thursday evening.
The people are urged to abide by the health and safety rule while celebrating a festival like Holi and conducting only essential programmes without many gatherings.
Similarly, the hotels, restaurants, banks and financial institutions, tourism, and non-government offices are asked to implement the health safety standard set by the government. The isolation centre and quarantines would be readied in the district.
They have been made aware of maintaining physical distance and the use of sanitiser and masks. Anyone violating the administration's circular would face action as per the Infectious Disease Act, 2020.
