Another one accused in Sankhuwasabha murder case

Suspect sent to district HQ for further inquiry

Police have detained another person in connection to the killing of six members of a family in Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district, on September 6.

The second suspect detained has been identified as Naresh Karki, a younger brother of Lok Bahadur Karki who had earlier confessed to police about killing six members of the Karki family in Umling.

Following the incident, police on September 12 had made public Lok Bahadur Karki (26), a nephew of one of the victims Tej Bahadur, as a prime suspect in the murder. Police had revealed that the motivation behind the cold-blooded murder was to take vengeance on the Karki family.

Naresh was arrested after police personnel carrying out the investigation, seized a mobile phone belonging to Ranjana, one of the victims, from his possession.

Those who were killed in the incident have been identified as Tej Bahadur Karki (58), his mother Parbata (84), spouse Kamala (56), daughter-in-law Ranjana (28), grandson Dipen (10), and granddaughter Goma (5).
