School closes as COVID seen in teachers and students

Teachers and students have been unable to teach and learn at Ashwara Secondary School in Tulsipur Sub-Municipality-8 of the Dang district due to coronavirus infection seen among teachers and students.

According to Bimal KC, Covid-19 focal personnel of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolis, 12 people including six teachers and six students of the school have tested positive for the coronavirus during the antigen test. They were tested at a local metro hospital after showing signs of corona infection.

Chakra Bhandari, chief of the education department of the sub-metropolitan, said that the school has been closed for five days from Tuesday. "Schools have been closed to prevent further spread of the virus after teachers and students became infected," he said. "The condition of infected students is normal." Teachers have been told to stay home in isolation.

Similarly, corona infection has been confirmed in two students of Rapti Children's Academy in Tulsipur Sub-metropolis-6. Bhandari said that other students and teachers who came in contact with the infected students were being tested.

He said that the conditions of all the infected people were normal.
