School restored after 23 years

A school that was displaced by floods in Sitapur of Madhyabindu Municipality has been restored after two decades. The Janata Siddha Lower Secondary School in Sitapur was displaced in 2057 BS due to the floods in the Narayani River.

The school has been restored after 23 years at the initiative of Madhyabindu Municipality.

Mayor of Madhyabindu Municipality, Bhimalal Adhikari, inaugurated the school on the occasion of New Year 2080. Established in 2026 B.S., the Janatasiddha lower secondary school was shifted to Amar Primary School in Lusalhari after it was displaced from Sitapur due to the flood of 2057. The two schools were merged to form Janata Siddha Amar Madhyamik School.

Stating that improvement of the educational situation of Madhyabindu Municipality is the first priority, he said that the municipality expects positive cooperation from all concerned parties.

Education Officer of the Municipality Krishna Regmi said that the school was established as per the demand of the parents and the decision of the Municipal Education Committee and the Municipality.

Local parents expressed their commitment to support the school from the community level. Shyam Narayan Mahato, coordinator of the school establishment preparation committee, said that all the community members are united to gradually make the school a choice of all the students and parents.
