Schools in Mahottari have been closed due to continuous cold and fog. The locals have issued notice to close the school for a few days after the onset of winter.
The village municipality has closed the school for a week by issuing a notice on Monday. Similarly, Matihani Municipality issued a notice on Tuesday stating that the school will be closed from today. The local level has stated that it has been decided to close the school for a few days taking care of the health of the children in the basic level schools. Sonama village chairman Raj Kumar Yadav says that the reading will be conducted if the weather improves. Deputy Chief of Matihani Shibodevi Sah said that the school has been closed for a few days to protect the children from the cold weather.
The winter has intensified due to thick fog. Most parts of Bardibas, Bhanthagaha, Aurhi and Gaushala were sunny on Tuesday. There is thick fog in the central and southern parts. Student attendance is declining in schools of Samsi, Ekdara, Mahottari and Pipra municipalities and schools in Manarashiva, Jaleshwor, Ramgopalpur, Balwa, Loharpatti and Jaleshwor municipalities.
