Schools, Colleges in Surkhet to reopen from Feb 13

The District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC), Surkhet has decided to reopen educational institutions from February 13.

Educational institutions were closed in all districts in Karnali Province including Surkhet following a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases. Teachers, students and parents have to strictly follow the health protocols against the virus, it has been directed.

A meeting of the CCMC under the chairpersonship of Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rijal on Tuesday took a decision in this regard.

As per the decision, students above 12 years of age have to take classes regularly and for children below 12, classes will be organized on alternative days.

The meeting also directed the concerned authority to manage COVID-19 vaccines to the students who are eligible for the vaccine at the earliest.

Similarly, all parks in Birendranagar will be reopening by following the health protocols. Various government offices in the district will be directed to resume services in full fledge, said CDO Rijal.
