Pourakhi Nepal – an organization pitching for women migrant rights – has stressed the need of sensitizing migrant workers even in the employment stage in the country of destination.
Various speakers at an interaction hosted today by the organization on the legal, policy and programmatic reforms regarding the health of Nepali women migrant workers and HIV survivors laid emphasis on sensitizing them during employment in the country of destination.
On the occasion, founder chairperson of the organization, Manju Gurung highlighted the importance of sensitizing migrant workers on their health status and about the existing legal and regulatory arrangements of the country of destination.
She shed light on the need of sensitization training to the workers before the employment in the cycle of migration as they have to be aware of the working nature, possible health challenges and resolving measures in the destination country.
Journalist Sunil Neupane presented the existing legal arrangement for migrant workers in Nepal at the programme. ---
