Due to the risk of landslides seven families of Karanga village in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-3, Surkhet district have been displaced.
Of the 20 households living in Karanga seven have been shifted to the homes of their relatives as landslides have posed a serious threat to their lives. Hasta Bahadur Shahi, a local, said his family was compelled to shift to a secured place after the landslide debris caused damages to his house.
The excavation of boulders in the cliff above the village has posed a serious threat to the seven households. Incessant rain in the area has increased the woes of the locals.
