Prem Lal Shrestha has been elected the President of Nepal Heavy Equipment Entrepreneurs Federation. The national general convention of the Federation held in Dhulikhel on Saturday elected Shrestha to the post of president of the federation.
Likewise, Umakant Sharma was elected the senior Vice-president, Purna Chandra Pokharel the first vice-president, Basant Prasad Bhusal the second vice-president, and Dharma Basyal the third vice-president. Suresh Khatri was elected the general secretary, Kanindra Bhatta the deputy general secretary, and Mahesh Raj Poudel and Yadav Lal Shrestha the Secretaries.
The convention also elected provincial coordinators and executive committee members.
Earlier speaking at the program, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha pledged to facilitate the granting of driving license for heavy equipment drivers and the regulation and management of heavy equipment.
President of National Transport Entrepreneurs Federation Nepal Yogendra Nath Karmacharya said the people's representatives were procuring heavy equipment in the name of their relatives and hence inviting a risk for the real entrepreneurs in the sector of being displaced
