The Sinja Municipality of Jumla is going to teach in Khas language in the schools within the municipality. The ninth village assembly of the village municipality has decided to start teaching Khas language in classes 1 to 3 in 22 schools within the municipality, said village municipality spokesperson Navin Sharma.
He said, “Khas language is the identity here. It is a pleasant aspect to start the Khas language course in Sinja, which is considered as the focal point of Nepali language. Now the children here will be able to read the history in Khas language. ” Spokesperson of the village municipality Sharma said that the economic, social, cultural and tourism sector of the district will be described in Khas language. The locals of Sinja area are happy with the construction of Khas language curriculum, said village chairman Dewal Singh Rawal.
Now, the village municipality has taken the belief that the creation of Khas language curriculum will promote Khas language. The Ninth Village Council has also decided to request the central government for the construction of a 15-bed hospital, release the withheld salaries of the facilitators working in the village development centers and increase their salaries, said village chairman Rawal.
Janam Kanya Khatri, vice-chairperson of the village municipality, said that they have been successful in resolving minor disputes in the village through the judicial committee since the local government was formed. The village municipality has stated that the policy of arranging concessional loans by attracting the youth to agriculture and modernizing agriculture by giving special priority to the agricultural production sector has been implemented to end poverty.
