Special security plan for the festive season

As the festival approaches, the District Police Office has implemented a special security plan in the district. Under the scheme, work is being done to control criminal activities, especially in long-distance vehicles.

According to the spokesperson of the office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Thapa, plainclothes and uniformed police have been mobilized keeping in view the possible criminal activities in long distance vehicles. He said that the office is confident that the problem of looting, theft and overcharging in long distance vehicles will be solved.

During the implementation of the plan, 69 units are conducting emergency checks as per requirement, tightening of picket area, additional and mobilization of QRT team, plainclothes police mobilization in areas where criminal incidents take place. According to Thapa, the striking team and the existing team are also on standby to clear the road if there is any obstruction.

A total of 737 police personnel in the district have been mobilized for this purpose. He said that the security plan for the festival is different from the regular program. He informed that special teams have been mobilized round the clock at 30 places in the district keeping in view the various incidents that may take place during the festival.

Similarly, market monitoring is being carried out in collaboration with the local administration to reduce the potential risk of unnatural price rise and sale and distribution of non-food items during the festival.
