Statue of late Prakash Dahal unveiled

In Visit Nepal Year 1998, when the Government of Nepal celebrated, 144 ropanis of land in Kakani, Nuwakot was made available to the Nepal Mountaineering Association. The aim was to develop it as a climber memorial park by erecting statues of the deceased climbers.

Currently, statues of the first climbers of Everest Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary, renowned climber Fudorje Sherpa, First Nepalese women Climber of Everest Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, and famous Korean Climber Park Young Seok are present.

On Friday, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal unveiled a statue of the late Prakash Dahal Sakar. Late Dahal was a Son of leader Prachanda Who also climbs Everest.


At that time, the late Prakash Dahal's wife former Minister Bina Magar was also present. During the unveiling, Dahal expressed the view that if the Memorial Park could be properly developed in Nepal, climbers from all over the world would be able to come. He assured to open a tourism university in Nepal and take initiative from his place for that.

President of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Nima Nuru Sherpa, said that it was important for the state to give due respect to Nepal's climbers.

 Former president of the association Shantabir Lama said that a clear policy of the government was needed for the proper development of the memorial park. He said that the construction of houses, hospitals, etc. The park could not be completed due to a lack of proper resources.

The park will soon have statues of the late Angrita Sherpa, who climbed Mt. Everest 10 times, and Junko Tabei, the first woman to have climbed Mt. Everest in 1975.
