A total of 221 dogs have been neutered in the animal camp run by the Veterinary Hospital and Veterinary Services Expert Center Tanahu. The dogs were neutered at a free animal camp organized by the center on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Chief of the center, Dr. Bal Kumar Shrestha, informed that a sterilization camp has been organized to reduce the number of community dogs in the Beas Municipality area. The center has neutered such dogs after there was a problem in releasing community dogs in the municipality. Eighty-five dogs were neutered on Tuesday and 136 on Wednesday. The dogs have also been vaccinated against rabies.
The community dogs were taken under control in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Vyas. As the problem of keeping dogs and then leaving them indiscriminately has increased, the rule of keeping dogs only by registering in Tanahun is being implemented. The center is going to enforce the rule of keeping dogs only by registering within the diameter.
The office is also going to launch a campaign to make Beas municipality free from rabies this year. The head of the center, Dr. According to Shrestha, details of community and domestic dogs in the municipality will also be collected.
