Supreme Court hearing from today

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order for an investigation to be conducted against former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha who has been accused of helping in the release of a landlord who had been accused of racial discrimination.

The Supreme Court has decided the case through a round system. On the first day, a total of 10 benches including two single benches have been formed. Judge Tanka Bahadur Moktan has been acquitted in the joint sitting of senior judge Deepak Kumar Karki.

A single bench of Justice Mira Khadka has been constituted. A joint bench of Justice Harikrishna Karki and Sushmalatha Mathema has been formed. Likewise, Judge Harikrishna Karki and judge Bamkumar Shrestha also sat on the bench. But that session is not for hearing but for amending the error in the old decision.

Another joint sitting of Bamkumar Shrestha has been held with Judge Vishwambhar Prasad Shrestha. A single bench of Kumar Chudal has been formed.

Similarly, Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai and another joint sitting of Manoj Sharma has been formed. Another bench of Justices Anil Kumar Sinha and Kumar Regmi has been constituted. On the other hand, bench of Prakash Man Singh Raut and Hari Phuyal has been constituted.


The next session is by Sapna Pradhan Malla and Prakash Dhungana. The next bench is headed by Justices Tej Bahadur KC and Nahakul Subedi.
