Residents of Dakshini Rasuwa are now in a state of panic as the number of incidents of theft in personal houses and financial institutions is increasing day by day. They have also made a plan to guard the village for the security of Toltol.
Thousands of locals in Dhaibung, Betini, Belchaur, Majhagaun, Thakle, Upallo Pauwa, Banuwa, Lahare, Manigaun, Dhunge, Karmidanda, Dandagaun and Thulogaun have become panic stricken after the theft started on May 2. According to the District Police Office, 26 private houses, four cooperatives, two health institutions, a ward office have been looted. Cash and some gold ornaments along with machinery have been stolen so far.
So far, Rs. 473,000 and four tolas of gold have been stolen from various houses and institutions, said District Police Chief Kuldeep Chand. He said that the search for the thief is in full swing. He has immediately appealed to the locals to inform the police about any new or suspicious person coming to the village.
Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Nawaraj Jaisi, said that they have appealed to the police to increase the surveillance of speech and gestures of people coming on the pretext of business or meeting.
Dr. Saroj Shrestha said that the locals have been staying awake since this evening to save their property after the increase in theft.
