Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma has made it clear that Nepal will not participate in any military alliance. He also said that US officials had been told that there would be no military alliance during meeting of the International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives on Friday.
He acknowledged that the letter was sent to the United States with the approval of the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Defense. He said, "The letter written by the Nepal Army however, military alliance is not written in the letter." He explained how the letter was on humanitarian assistance during the earthquake.
