Police in Kapilvastu district arrested three persons on charge of murdering 18-year-old Bijaya Bahadur Kurmi, a local resident of Belauhawa in Kapilvastu Municipality-8 on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Ramesh Kaahar (32), Anil Kaahar (23), and Basmati Kaahar (22), all local residents of the same municipality in the district.
Kurmi's body was found in a pond at the same place on June 21, informed District Police Office (DPO), Kapilvastu.
After learning about his wife, Basmati, having an illicit relationship with Kurmi, Anil allegedly had also thrashed Kurmi a month ago.
On the morning of June 18, while Anil was returning home after attending a marriage function, he found Kurmi in his room. After that, Anil, Ramesh, and Basmati beat up Kurmi and strangled him to death, and threw his body into a pond.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed DPO, Kapilvastu.
