Nepal gets 3 lakh tourists in 7 months

In the seven months of 2022, nearly three lakh foreign tourists have entered Nepal.

Citing the Immigration Department, according to the data provided by the Nepal Tourism Board, 285,363 foreign tourists visited Nepal by air from January to July. Last July, 44,462 tourists came. In July 2019, 58,811 foreign tourists visited Nepal.

In July, 17,299 tourists from neighboring India and 1,874 tourists from Bangladesh entered the country. Similarly, 1,593 tourists from China have come to Nepal. In total, 4,195 tourists from Asia and other countries have visited Nepal. Likewise, 9,121 tourists from Europe, 3,735 tourists from the Middle East and 5,228 tourists from America have visited Nepal.

How many tourists came in which month?

According to the board, 16,975 in January, 19,766 in February, 41,66 in March, 61,589 in April, 53,689 in May, 46,957 in June and 44,462 in July. have entered Nepal.

The board has said that promotional activities have been intensified in the resource markets of neighboring countries India, Asia including Bangladesh, Middle East Asia. Maniraj Lamichhane, director of the board, said that although the month of July is the off-season for tourism, tourist arrivals are increasing positively, which indicates that Nepal's tourism sector is gradually returning to its rhythm.

He mentioned that the role of India, Bangladesh and Europe in tourism growth is positive. Director Lamichhane informed that the arrival of tourists from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other Asian and European countries has increased recently.
