About 3.5 million international air passengers have traveled through Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in 2022. According to the data of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), only 34 lakh 88 thousand 328 passengers traveled internationally from Tribhuvan Airport last year including arrival and departure data.
According to the office, this number is two and a half times more than in 2021. In 2021, the number of international flight passengers was 14 lakh 56 thousand 929.
According to statistics, 1.5 million 56 thousand 811 passengers arrived at TIA. This is the combined number of Nepali citizens and international tourists. 1.9 million 31 thousand 517 passengers have departed from this airport. Thus, the airport served 34 lakh 88 thousand 328 international passengers.
24 thousand 312 flights and landings have taken place at the airport in which 12 thousand 158 ships have landed at TIA. And a total of 12 thousand 154 planes have flown from here.
In one year, 26.6676 thousand 780 kg of cargo has been transported from the airport, out of which 1 crore 32 lakh 4 thousand 770 kg goods have entered Nepal. According to the authority, 1 crore 34 lakh 72 thousand 10 kg of goods were released.
Compared to 2021, the number of flights, the number of passengers has increased significantly, while the cargo has decreased this year.
