Ashkumar Shrestha of Byas Municipality-4 says that one had to work from morning till night to get sacks of mustard but now the work of getting mustard has become like a fairy tale. In the year 2032, he was the first person to operate a mustard mill in the capital Damauli with an investment of Rs 40,000.
Owner Shrestha says that in other months twenty to twenty five people come to buy mustard seeds daily, but during the rainy season there are hardly two to three people. He says that the attraction towards mustard cultivation has decreased due to the fact that young manpower is employed abroad, daughters and sons are in cities to educate their children and only old people are in villages. Earlier, four manpower was employed to get 8-9 of mustard from morning to night, but now there are hardly two people. Operation Shrestha says, "It is difficult to pay wages to the two employees." Lately, wheat and corn have also been ground along with mustard.
In recent times, the number of people coming to the headquarter to buy mustard is also decreasing due to the fact that mills are operating in villages.
