A rickshaw puller died after a truck hit him at Nawalpur of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-11 in Makawanour district on Thursday morning.
Makawanpupr District Police Office identified the deceased as local resident Khemlal Shrestha (36).
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Indra Bahadur Rana informed that the truck (Na 6 Kha 4044) heading to Hetauda from Manahari collided head-on with the rickshaw (Na 1 Ha 3408) critically injuring Shrestha.
Injured Shrestha was rushed to Churehill Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, police have impounded the truck while the search is on for the driver who fled the scene after the incident.
The body of Shrestha has been taken to Hetauda Hospital for post mortem.
