Two people, including a girl, were killed in two separate accidents in Jhapa today. A girl was killed when a tractor hit her in Kankai Municipality of Jhapa and a man fell from a tree in Mechinagar, said Basanta Pathak, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Jhapa.
Aroshi Dulal, a 2-year-old child was playing under a tractor when her father Bal Krishna Dulal, 45, of Bhitri Kutchi Road, Kankai-7 unknowingly started the tractor. She came under the wheel of the tractor and who was critically injured. She was rushed to Birtamod Hospital but died during treatment, said spokesperson Thapa.
Similarly, a person died after falling from a tree at Dudhe Golatar in Mechinagar-3 this afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Meghendra BK, 42, of Mechinagar-3. BK was seriously injured when he fell from a tree while cutting branches in the garden of local resident Pooja Dewan of the same place. According to the District Police Office Jhapa, he died while undergoing treatment at B&C Hospital, Birtamod.
