Two persons riding on a motorcycle died after colliding with a truck in Golbazaar Municipality-3 of Siraha district today.
The deceased have been identified as the motorcycle rider Abhishek Katuwal and pillion rider Achyut Luitel, both residents of Kanchanpur Municipality-7 in Saptari district.
The truck (Na 6 Kha 131) heading in an eastward direction collided head-on with a motorcycle (Sa 7 Pa 9185) killing the motorcycle riders at a bridge over Gagan River.
Katuwal died in course of treatment at Ram Kumar Sarada Uma Prasad Murarka Memorial Hospital in Lahan while Luitel in a hospital in Biratnagar, said Police Inspector Santosh Rai.
Meanwhile, police have impounded the truck and detained its driver for further investigation.
