Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested two persons in possession of 88 grams of heroin from Kamal Rural Municipality-3 in Jhapa district.
The arrested have been identified as Subash Meche (20) and Suraj Lamichhane (25), both local residents of Mechinagar Municipality-15.
They were riding in a tempo with vehicle registration number ME 1 HA 5990. Joint security personnel deployed from the Damak-based Area Police Office and Kakadvitta-based Narcotics Control Office nabbed them with the substances during a routine vehicle check.
Similarly, police in Parsa district arrested an Indian national in possession of 5.18 grams of heroin from Birgunj Metropolitan-17 on Wednesday morning.
The arrested has been identified as Mantu Pandit Kumhal (35), a local resident of Dhupuwatole in Bihar, India.
Sirsiya-based Area Police nabbed him with the substances during a routine check.
Meanwhile, police in Baglung district arrested an old man in possession of 2.2 kilograms of hashish from Nishikhola Rural Municipality-6 on Wednesday night.
The arrested has been identified as Kum Bahadur Budha (56), a local resident of Bhiwang in the same rural municipality.
Budha was hiding the hashish close to his house. Joint security personnel from the Baglung-based District Police Office and Burtibang-based Area Police Office nabbed him with the substances during a routine check.
Further investigation into the cases has been started, informed the police.
