The United States Embassy Youth Council (USYC) is accepting the online application for the 2021-22 cohort.
USYC is a professional engagement program under the US Embassy’s Public Affairs Section and is designed to assist members to further their civil and societal engagement through a variety of training programs, projects and events that they can participate in.
The US Mission has designed the USYC as a professional development and mentoring program to assist the council members in developing leadership skills to solve critical issues in communities.
Throughout the duration of the membership term, council members participate in networking opportunities, work on community engagement projects, and attend important strategic events.
The US Embassy Kathmandu has a cooperative agreement with We Inspire Nepal (WIN), a youth-led social change non-profit organization, to manage the USYC program.
Every year, approximately 55 individuals, between 20-30 years old, are accepted to the Council.
Priority is given to applicants from marginalised and underrepresented communities in Nepal. The USYC provides abundant opportunities from networking to civic engagement projects for youths in Nepal.
Young professionals; experts on different issues; young politicians; students; young change-makers and any individuals, religious and ethnic minority communities including LGBTI can apply for the applications.
One looking for an opportunity to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse, and of course uncover confidence with new innovative ideas can apply for the USYC application.
Who can apply?
The results will be announced on two dates: the first result will be published on October 21 while the second result will be announced by or before December 7.
The deadline for submitting the application for USYC 2021/22 is 11:59 PM (GMT +5:45).
