Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that it is necessary to expand the university to the community level in order to find alternative resources to meet the needs of the 21st century.
Addressing the 37th meeting of the Eastern University Assembly in Kathmandu today, he said that the government would support the implementation of the policy put forward by the university to expand access to the community level.
According to Prime Minister Dahal, the university should pay special attention to the production of high-level manpower that can compete at the international level, keeping in mind the national needs.
He mentioned that he was happy to get the information that the university has focused on the needs of the nation and the production of international-level skilled manpower in the fields of science and technology, engineering, management, medicine, education, and law.
The prime minister said that he believes that this university will make a qualitative contribution to the growth and processing of such products as well as their delivery to the international market by conducting detailed research on the original products of Nepal including cardamom, tea, rudraksha, herbs, jute, and fruits.
