Vaccination drive against COVID-19: 158.487 people inoculated in Nepal

As many as 158.487 people were inoculated with covishield from 201 vaccination centres in all 77 districts of Nepal as of Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

As many as 21,754 persons have been vaccinated in Province 1; 21,185 in Province 2; 55,504 in Bagmati province; 17,267 in Lumbini Province; 8,072 in Karnali and 10,907 in Sudurpaschim Province as of 4:00 pm on Thursday.

The government has been administering vaccination through a campaign launched against COVID-19 since the Government of India provided one million doses of covishield vaccine as a grant.

The vaccination is being administered to the health workers, security personnel, drivers among other utility staff working at mortuary departments and inmates in the first phase of the vaccination drive that will last on Saturday, February 6.

Meanwhile, the MoHP has issued a directive to all the vaccination centres to vaccinate the health workers who present themselves with identity cards bearing photo and registration numbers filed under Nepal Medical Council, Nepal Nursing Council, Nepal Health Professional Council and Nepal Pharmacy Council.
