Vice-President Yadav urges PSC to make its activities more effective

Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has stressed that performance and activities of the Public Service Commission (PSC) should be more effective.

Addressing the 73rd anniversary of the PSC, Vice-President Yadav urged the Commission to make its service further effective as the Commission's responsibility of selecting capable candidates in the civil service as well as conducting written examinations for filling the posts of Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force of Nepal and other federal government organisations was satisfactory.

He said Commission's role in recruiting and selecting employees including of civil service was impartial, fair and trustworthy, asking the Commission to continue it.

Similarly, Commission Chairperson Madhav Prasad Regmi mentioned that the Commission has formulated second strategic plan (2079/80-2083/84) to make its employee recruitment and selection task more impartial, timely and reliable as well as to strengthen institutional capacity of the Commission, and has also brought it into implementation.

Regmi further said improvement has been made on curriculum, examination system as well system has been developed based on suggestions of a taskforce to make answer sheet system more trustworthy.

Data management task would be made further systematic in coming days as the Commission has brought a new online system into implementation, he clarified.

Heads of constitutional bodies, former chairpersons of the Commission, Attorney General, Chief Secretary of the government as well as high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
