Chairman of the Press Council of Nepal, Balkrishna Basnet, has suggested that the voice of the victims is suppressed in the media.
"Journalism is supposed to bring justice to society, it should help to reduce violence, but instead it has increased violence, and family discord, " he said. He added the importance of victims' voice and for the media to pay more attention to the truth. Addressing the 18th series of orientation held in Press Council Nepal, Chairman Basnet said that the journalism sector should focus on the problems of the society.
Bipul Pokhrel, president of the Nepal Journalist Association, said that it is the responsibility of this sector to fulfill the expectations of society from the journalism sector.
