Weather to be partly to generally cloudy

The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in most places of the country in the next three days due to the influence of the local wind, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.

It will be partly to generally cloudy with chances of light rain in some places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati province, and Gandaki province until this Thursday. The weather became fair throughout the country as of Monday and it was sunny pushing the mercury up. Henceforth, the maximum temperature towards the afternoon would fall due to the influence of the local wind and it will be cold.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar said however there is no possibility of heavy rainfall occurring immediately. She said no significant weather system causing rainfall has developed as yet anywhere within the country.

The Kathmandu Valley recorded maximum temperature at 23.7 degrees Celsius on Monday while it is 21.8 degrees Celsius today. At present, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly region of the country. It will be partly to generally cloudy in the afternoon in Province no 1, 2, Bagmati province, and Gandaki province with chances of light rain in some places. There is a possibility of dense fog occurring in the Tarai region.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was 3.9 degrees Celsius today. Similarly, the lowest minimum temperature of minus 3.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jumla and the highest minimum temperature was recorded at 13.6 degrees Celsius in Simara today.
