WHO’s ‘Walk the Talk’ programme concludes in Pokhara

‘Walk the Talk’: The Health for All Challenge, an annual event launched by the World Health Organisation with the aim of encouraging people to be physically active and mentally well for their own health and that of others, has concluded here today.

The event concluded after a team of participants including Dr Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav, WHO Representative to Nepal walked around two kilometers from Barahighat to Bangladi in Pokhara.

On the occasion, Dr Pandav said the walk is an integral part for people to live a busy and healthy life.

He also said that he was attracted to the beauty of the tourist city, Pokhara. “I find Pokhara beautiful. Mountains and lakes here are enticing.”

Launched in 2018 coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the WHO, the campaign has already been organised in Lumbini, Kathmandu, Karnali, and Janakpur, said Communication officer, WHO, Nepal, Sudhan Gyawali. The event was participated by around 50 people including WHO representatives and those from every walk of life.
