The Drug Control Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs has organized a workshop here today to protect the young generation from drugs and to include drug control programs in the budget to be prepared by the local level in the coming fiscal year.
In the workshop on 'Drug Prohibition and Alcohol Control', it was emphasized that everyone should take interest in prevention as its use would ruin not only the society but also their home. Participants of the program said that special attention should be paid to prevention from the school level as young people between the ages of 12 and 35 fall into this trap.
Kedar Karki, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Province No. 1, said that all should work together to prevent and control the drug menace.
He said that it is necessary to make every effort to get the users out of the drug swamp as its trade is more in the border area and the users are also members of the same society. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Bhishma Kumar Bhusal and Officer at the Drug Control Branch Gokarna Prasad Upadhyaya also spoke about the impact of the program.
