Damauli, Dec 3 : Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ramchandra Poudel has urged the concerned ones not to politicize development works rather he called for a healthy competition for such works.

Inaugurating a cemented bridge linking ward no 1 of Byas Municipality to ward no 10 of the same Municipality in Tanahu district on Thursday, leader Poudel said that his party was committed towards development works although it was an opposition party. Pressing for efforts to end corruption and to ensure good-governance, Poudel inaugurated the bridge over Buldi River.

He accused the police administration of suppression in the Wednesday incident when he was arrested from the site where the bridge was to be inaugurated.

According to him, NC and Tanahu were always leading the ideological movements in the country and Tanahu was still capable for it.

Also, speaking at the programme, NC central committee member and former Minister Shankar Bhandari said that the NC should audit the loss in the last election and prepare for the next election by correcting its mistakes.

Likewise, NC central member Govinda Bhattarai spoke of the need to unify the NC. Another central member of NC Pradeep Poudel underscored the start of political culture.

Byas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane, NC central member Dhruba Wagle among others reaffirmed NC's commitment for development related works.

The 45-metre long bridge was built at the cost of over Rs 25.4 million. The bridge is expected to directly benefit locals of Ranigaun, Dihigaun, Dumsikot, Nirbu, Baraha Khola, Andheri Bhanjyang and Pokharelfaant among others, according to the Bridge Construction Consumer Committee Chair, Khadga Bahadur Adhikari.
