The vote count of Pokhara Metropolis has reached the final stage this morning with the counting of 138,211 votes out of a total of 143,226 votes cast in the metropolis.
The vote counting had begun just a day after the local level election of May 13.
With only 5,015 votes left to be counted, the common candidate of the ruling alliance from CPN (Unified Socialist), Dhanraj Acharya, has been leading with 5,286 votes. He collected 56,471 votes so far. The supporters and voters of Acharya are now preparing for a victory rally.
Acharya's nearest rival Krishna Bahadur Thapa from CPN UML has collected 51,185 votes. Similarly, Deputy Mayor candidate Manju Devi Gurung from UML has to lead the vote count by the margin of 4,035 votes. She collected 58,582 votes so far.
Her nearest rival, a common candidate of the ruling alliance belonging to the Nepali Congress, Kopila Ranabhat, has garnered 54,547 votes.
Votes from a few wards are left to be counted in the Metropolis.
