Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has urged the Maoist factions scattered in different groups to unite. Giving best wishes on the occasion of the 27th People's War Day, he called upon the constituents to unite by assimilating the problems facing the country.

President Dahal expressed his belief that the present change could be further strengthened and enriched if the forces fighting for change were united. The message said, "Celebrating People's War Day has meaning, significance and justification only if there is unity among the transformative revolutionary forces." The role of people's war has been of far-reaching importance in the history of Nepal. It has been established as a war of liberation in the history of Nepali political and social change. The country became institutionalized as a federal democratic republic after the joint people's movement of 2005/06 which was completed on the basis of people's war. The drafting of a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly and the ensuring of a federal republican system of government as well as secular, inclusive and proportional representation in the country was also a contribution of the People's War. ”

Stating that domestic and foreign reactionary forces are still trying to reverse the change brought about by the sacrifices of the people and discredit the leaders and the party, Dahal appealed to all party leaders, cadres and well-wishers to unite and move forward to defeat all kinds of reactionary conspiracies.

He made a special request to the divided Maoist leaders and cadres who participated in the people's war to become Maoists and all the forces working together for peace and constitution to move forward in accordance with the spirit of the people's war and the defense of the Federal Democratic Republic.

He has paid tribute to the martyrs who took part in the people's war for change and sacrificed their lives. He paid tribute to the warriors who went missing during the People's War, the wounded warriors and their families.
