The government is preparing to bring 'Advertising Code of Conduct' to regulate the advertising sector rather than controlling it.
Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Dr Vaikuntha Aryal, while inaugurating the two-day training on 'Capacity Development of Manpower in Advertising Management' organized by the Advertising Board today, said that the government is preparing to bring a code of conduct to make the advertising sector more clean, transparent, responsible and accountable.
He said, "Advertising is made with misleading, sufficient information. In order to manage it, the advertisement code of conduct is being brought based on the suggestions of the stakeholders." He said that the policy and regulations of the Advertising Board would be amended in time to make the board more transparent and competitive.
Senior Vice President of the Nepal Advertising Association (AAN) Narayan Shrestha stressed on the need to formulate and implement a clear policy on advertisement distribution.
