Tek Bahadur Gurung of the Nepali Congress has been elected member of the House of Representatives from Manang. Gurung defeated his closest rival Folden Chopang Gurung of CPN (UML) by 328 votes.
Gurung got 2,575 votes while UML candidate Gurung got 2,247 votes. Gurung, a central member of the Congress, is also a former Minister of State for Labour.
Also, Mukhiya Gurung of Rashtriya Swatantra Party received 5 votes while 19 votes were invalid.
Similarly, Munindrajung Gurung of Nepali Congress has been elected to the Provincial Assembly 1 from Manang. Rajiv Gurung (Deepak Manange), an independent candidate, was elected unopposed in Provincial Assembly 2.
